The culmination of the camp season is Buck's Rock's Festival, when parents and friends witness the many accomplishments of our campers: their productivity, growth and collective and individual successes, and is most assuredly a memorable event.
There are exhibits of fine and creative arts, demonstrations in various studios, poetry readings and a fashion show. In addition, Buck's Rock's Music Shed and Studio 59, Clown and Improvisation Studio, Dance and Actor's Studios all perform, presenting both new pieces and excerpts from previous performances. We serve a picnic lunch and dinner to all our guests, and to conclude the summer and Festival Day, our Summer Theater presents its final musical production for our campers and visitors to enjoy.
The friendliness and warmth, the mutual respect and support, the cooperative and collective effort that makes this all possible remain with us long after we return home, and in this way, Buck's Rock seems never to leave us, or we never to leave the spirit that is Buck's Rock.
Some examples of Festival productions include: A Wolf in Thief's Clothing, Cabaret, as well as dance, clown/improv and musical presentations. Everyone is invited to attend, and we hope that many of the first-session and 6-week campers will come back with their parents to visit on this day.
