Camper Rooming Requests
While we will do our very best to fulfill each sleepaway camper's rooming request, sometimes logistics and other camper's requests may prevent us from fully accommodating preferences. Please prepare your teenager(s) or child(ren) for this possibility. Campers should also be reminded that we can only honor mutual requests. Please return rooming request cards promptly.
Medical Forms
As required by the Connecticut State Department of Health, no camper will be admitted to camp without a completed medical form and signed emergency authorization. All medical must be mailed to us by May 15.
Camper Accounts
There is a charge for some of the materials used in some creative arts shops at Buck's Rock summer camp (i.e.: Metalsmithing, Woodworking, Weaving, etc.), and for those trips that require an admission fee (i.e..: Tanglewood, Jacobs Pillow, Shakespeare Festival, etc.). Your child will be asked to call you in advance if he or she wishes to undertake a particularly costly project. The Camper Account also covers any Canteen charges. At the Canteen campers may purchase candy, ice cream, soft drinks, etc., in addition to some stationery supplies and toiletry articles. It is difficult for us to recommend a precise sum for the Camper Account, as the charges will vary widely depending on the camper's interests and pursuits. However, we can suggest starting with $200-$250 per session.
Transportation to Camp
Campers are generally brought to camp by parents by car, we do not provide a bus. We do provide a pick-up and drop off service to and from JFK and LGA, contact us for further details.
Instrument Rentals
If your child has not brought his/her own musical instrument and would like to rent one for our summer camp rock and other music programs, he or she must approach the Music Department at the beginning of the session to rent an instrument. Rental cost ranges from $30 to $60 per session.
