YEARS AT BUCK'S ROCK: 12 summers: 2 camper, 1 CIT, 9 staff.
CURRENT POSITION: CIT Program Coordinator.
HOMETOWN: Pleasantville, NY
WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU'RE NOT AT BUCK'S ROCK? I work as a barista in the Lower East Side neighborhood of Manhattan and run a small recording studio in Pleasantville, NY. By night, I can occasionally be found somewhere in NYC onstage performing live music.
WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GREW UP? When I was very young I used to say I wanted to be a paleontologist. I was obsessed with Jurassic Park, The American Museum of Natural History, and all things dinosaur-related.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FOOD? Smoked salmon and anything pickled.
FAVORITE THINGS TO DO: Creating/performing/nerding out about music, playing basketball (that’s right I like music AND sports), making plans and following through on them.
FAVORITE SAYING: When you’re here, you’re family.®
FAVORITE BUCK'S ROCK SHOP: I’ve spent a decade in Studio 59, the camp recording studio, so that shop means a lot to me. As an observer, I’ve always been fascinated/impressed by the work coming out of the dance studio and batik.
LITTLE-KNOWN FACT: My older sister was a camper at Buck’s Rock for three summers!
WEIRDEST PERSONAL TALENT: I’m an incredible snapper, and I’ll gladly demonstrate this for you.
BEST PART OF YOUR JOB: Being a presence in young people’s lives as they learn more about themselves, piece by piece. I’m routinely in awe of how much growth is possible in one summer.
FAVORITE ICE CREAM FLAVOR: Chocolate chip cookie dough or mint chocolate chip.
PROUDEST MOMENT: Watching (or performing with!) my campers and CIT’s in Rock Café and the Tribute Show.
FAVORITE CARTOON THEME SONG: Pokémon.
WHERE IS YOUR HAPPY PLACE: Upstairs at The Cookhouse during a thunderstorm with a group of Buck’s Rockers.
SECRET AMBITION: To own and operate a state-of-the-art, multi-room recording facility.
OBSESSION: NBA basketball.
